Mohammad Monirul Haque

Mohammad Monirul Haque is a Ph.D. candidate at Translational Health Research Institute (THRI) of Western Sydney University, Australia. His doctoral research involves evaluating various health economic aspects of hyperglycaemia in pregnancy. Mohammad completed Master of Research (MRes) in Health Economics from Macquarie University Centre for Health Economy (MUCHE). His MRes dissertation (later published) investigated the key factors behind Pharmaceutical Benefits Advisory Committee (PBAC) recommendations for government reimbursement of medicines for diabetes and associated comorbid conditions in Australia. Mohammad completed B.S.S. and M.S.S. in Economics from University of Dhaka in Bangladesh. Prior to coming to Australia, he served as a research associate at various reputable research institutes in Bangladesh for a few years. He also taught introductory courses in economics at graduate level as a part-time lecturer. After completion of Master of Professional Accounting from Macquarie University, Mohammad briefly worked as an accountant in Australia. He also obtained Master of Business from University of New England while working as an accountant. His research interests include health technology assessment, economic evaluation of health care interventions, and pharmaceutical policy.
